New and Used Wooden Kayaks, Canoes, Boats, and Stand Up Paddle Boards (SUPs) for Sale
Kayaks, Canoes and Boats are Constructed by Hand
Extremely Durable – Wooden kayaks, reinforced by fiberglass cloth and epoxy, are stronger and more durable than just about any other material used for recreational boats.
Lightweight – These kayaks typically weigh between 32 lbs. and 40 lbs., much less than plastic or fiberglass kayaks.
Effortless Paddling – Wooden kayaks are much more efficient through the water and track solidly in all water conditions.
Maintain their beauty – The combination of epoxy and marine varnish provide a high gloss finish that lasts several years.
Stitch and Glue Construction, Cedar Strip Plank construction, or a Hybrid of Both Techniques – At the bottom of this page are photos of a hybrid kayak and a stitch and glue kayak.
These wooden vessels are constructed from kits designed by:

I recently purchased a 14’ Arctic Tern that Steve had personally built from a Pigmy kit. Couldn’t have been more pleased to meet him and his wife. They both went above and beyond to assist in the transport of the boat to us and are very genuine and honest folks. Being a meticulous furniture woodworker myself, I found the quality of Steve’s work among the highest level. The boat’s strength and lightweight construction are second only to the beauty of the wood the Steve made a reality. Great job and thanks again Steve! Hope to see some pics of some of the new boats coming out of your shop.
The wherry boat is beautiful; what a fantastic job!
I get comments all the time on how beautiful my kayak is (Arctic Tern), and it’s a dream to paddle!
I’ve had my Pygmy Boats kayak for over four years now. After lightly sanding the entire boat and applying a couple of coats of varnish, it looks brand new!
